This 90-minute implementation class focuses on expressive language development and targeted activities to increase the language complexity of AAC communicators. Participants will learn about language stages and tools to help develop goals and track progress. Numerous resources, including lessons from the AAC Language Lab Stages 3-6, engaging iPad apps, and hands-on activities for all ages will be shared in this interactive session. Participants will also learn how data logging with Realize Language can help guide their treatment plans and monitor growth. Participants will be able to:
1. Define Morphology and Morpheme
2. Explain how children learn morphemes
3. Identify 3 resources for planning language intervention that target morphemes for our AAC learners
This class provides resources and strategies that speech-language pathologists, educators and parents can use for teaching more complicated language structures to individuals currently using at least two word phrases on their speech generating devices.
